COURSE REQUIREMENTS
All of the course components - the lessons, textbook, assignments,
and tests - have been carefully designed to help you achieve the
course objectives.

Your course password to access the lectures is the section
number for this course.

Complete and return the Letter of Agreement.
- READ
the textbook chapters as indicated on your assignment sheet.
Since critical thinking is a skill that is mastered by practice,
I recommend that you do the study questions at the end of each
unit in the textbook, but these are not submitted.

COMPLETE four online quizzes.
WRITE
one required project paper. Mail on time to the Distance
Learning Department.
Submit extra credit assignments you choose and mail to the
Distance Learning Department on time.
Contact your instructor by mail, fax, email or on the web site
when you have questions or concerns.
Check web site frequently for course up-dates.

The final grade of Logic & Critical Thinking will be based upon
the number of points you earn on the four quizzes, the midterm
and final exams and the required project paper.
The grade scale for the course is as follows:
LETTER GRADE
270 - 300 points = A
240 - 269 points = B
210 - 239 points = C
180 - 209 points = D
179 and below points = F
210 and above points = Credit Only (CR)
209 and below points = No Credit (NC)
The Family Rights and Privacy Act of 1974
restricts release of certain student information, such as
grades. Therefore, please do not call the Testing Office for
your final scores/grades. Grades can be obtained by phoning
(714) 438-8249 approximately three weeks after the
conclusion of the semester.

Find five advertisements that give reasons for purchasing the
product they are selling. Which of the reasons are promises to the
purchaser? Exactly what is being promised? What is the likelihood
that the product will fulfill that promise?
The extra-credit paper should be 3-4 pages long. Please provide a
copy of the five advertisements that you use for the paper.
